Dad and the Untold History of Palestine and Israel I'm publishing this on Dad's birthday, seven years after his passing. It's a kind of tribute to his legacy and character. Most of my life was spent trying to hide from his overbearing pragmatism and bullying. Dad was very much a practical man with a real world orientation to getting things done. I was a dreamer and an idealist. After finishing school, I couldn't wait to escape to the other side of Canada and make a life there. Nearly thirty years later, I returned. Dad and I got to know each other again as different people and we became closer than we had ever been before. Things and perceptions do change. We learn things.that were not as we thought or as we were told. Both of us changed and adapted to the fresh reality, and that change of perception provided me with many wonderful years of a relationships with a man who was not only my father, he became a friend and comrade too. I grew up with the perception of Israel being a heroic underdog project in the face of violent and backward religious zealots. There was endless media that romanticized Israeli courage and innovation - movies like Exodus with Paul Newman - and TV news coverage of Middle East wars that reinforced the idea that God was naturally on the side of Israel. It was all propaganda, and it persisted as long as TV and movies were monopolized by a handfull of people who had reason to shape public perception in favor of Israel. But now there is the Internet and with it, independent journalists who have the resources to tell a different version of the truth. In his final years, I was amazed to see how receptive Dad was to hearing my point of view on various subjects, even when they challenged his views. He really did try to understand and sometimes he even came around. True to his nature, that was indeed practical. After all, what's the point of clinging to ideas when doing so in the face of contrary evidence can distance you from the love of family? And, because of that, I believed I was blessed with the same kind of exceptionalism exhibited by John Wayne and all the other WW2 war heroes of movies and TV. 60+ years later, I now know all those stories of WW2 were mostly lies. america and britain did not win the war as I was told by my parents and by Hollywood. Russia and the Soviet Union defeated Nazi Germany while sacrificing 25 milion of its citizens in the effort. Not only that, Russia was then such an immediate threat that Japan decided to capitulate ... before america gratuitously and sadistically dropped its atomic bombs murdering around two hundred thousand civilians.. Andrei Martyanov is now a loyal american living in the Seattle area. He immigrated from Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union..But before that he was an officer in the Russian navy. Despite his loyalty to america, he is now writing books and podcasting about military strategy and doctrine. As I said, our world is upside down when we learn to give more respect to a pothead comedian like Jimmy Dore than to establishment media. And stop trusting the CBC and similar sources when they tell you anything about Russia or China. Sieg Vile - Brainwashed Canadian politicians salute nazis! A big part of my Whitside childhood was listening to the old folks commiserate about adventures and politics during WW2. Pappy Gilbertson was one of the heroes of the Battle of Britain. Uncle Bill flew against Nazis in North Africa and Italy. At the time I had no trouble identifying good guys and bad guys. It was constantly drilled into me that nazis were evil war criminals. Apparently there is now some doubt. Since WW2, we have been afflicted with seventy plus years of overwhelming Cold War propaganda that has distorted history in order to keep Canadian citizens sufficiently hateful towards Russians.Now that brainwashing has so infested Canadian minds that our so-called leaders are now giving standing ovations in parliament to SS nazis. Canada's politicians and mainstream journalists are more brainwashed than the rest of us because they are richly rewarded with money, connections and power to believe what they're told. Canadian citizens are simple people who just want to work hard and provide a good life for their children without getting stuck in the mud of politics. Unfortunately, choosing that path makes them simpletons who are easily manipulated. I know because I was in that head space for most of my life. I was a brainwashed simpleton too. Yes, it takes some nerve to tell the vast majority of Canadians that they're all brainwashed but there is prescedent and reason. After all, 70+ million Germans in 1938 were convinced that it was the rest of the western world that was deluded and brainwashed, not them. They knew they were the good guys ... just as most Canadians do now. How do Canadians know they're the good guys now? Their TVs, radios and newspapers tell them so. And political leaders assure them Russia's dictator Putin is evil, insane or both. It seems such an overwhelming and obvious consensus, how could any sane citizen doubt it? You would have to be crazy to risk losing friends and family relations to tell everyone else they're deluded. But here I am doing just that. The machinations, reasons and perpetrators of this grand deception are too much to convey in this short post. My only hope is to use the nazi fiasco in parliament to nudge you into considering that something is really wrong, and the possibility that you are not invulnerable to propaganda and brainwashing. I suspect that my family is in denial about how close we are to fighting in a real war once again. Before you send your kids off to fight in Ukraine, you might want to give an ear to anti-war journalists who are questioning american and nato propaganda. Such research is tedious and won't be respected by those around you but it may save you from severe disillusionment and heartbreak.

Since then, report after report has come out to prove our resistance was correct. We were never a threat to the health of anyone. And we vax resisters did not overburden the health system. Meanwhile, many of those who believed the endless lies of government authorities - and still do in the case of other issues such as war - have suffered from vaccine injuries and the economic impacts of lockdowns. Most of us who were treated like selfish idiots want to heal the wounds. I, for one, am not looking to rub anyone's nose in their arrogance or poor judgement.But it would be nice to get back to some semblance of normalcy where we can actually discuss ongoing threats to democracy and freedom with respect and patience.

Most of the so-called journalists, politicians and others lying to us daily are not doing so knowingly. Although they spread the brainwashing, they are as brainwashed as most of their audiences.They simply trust their bosses, the politicians they interview, the military and intelligence sources that are their sole sources of information. Like everyone else, they refuse to believe that respected officials would lie to them. Here we have an example of a woman who got herself into a job as Communcations Director for the National Endowment for Democracy mainly because she didn't ask her employers any awkward questions. As the Communications Director, it's her job to inform journalists about the work of NED. So she's a brainwashed brainwasher brainwashing other brainwashed brainwashers. What better way to convince people of a lie than to actually believe it yourself? In complete naiveté, she approached journalists at the Grayzone to ask why they kept claiming her organization was associated with the CIA. After all, her superiors, mainstream journalists and everyone else around her said that was ridiculous.
Brainwashing and Anticipatory Systems All mobile living things have an anticipatory system to model their world in order to avoid danger and to find resources. In humans, it operates at an unconscious level and it anticipates social as well as natural dangers. The reason people don't want to know about truths that challenge their mental models is that they unconsciously anticipate the social dangers entailed in changing their minds. They then rationalize their denial and resistance to contrary information by invoking the authority of consensus or any vaguely plausible explanation. We are victims of our evolutionary psychology. While Rosen's book is generally available in online bookstores, it is rather technical and very expensive (about $235 CA). A.H. Louie, a mathematical biologist in Ottawa, has produced a short expository introduction to Rosen's theory: Robert Rosen's anticipatory systems. As far as I know, neither Rosen nor Louie have extrapolated their research into the domain of propaganda psychology. The origin of "self-deceived deceivers of war" Well, so much for thinking 'Brainwashed Brainwashers' was original. As I learned from this article by Andrew Bacevich, the idea originated with Hannah Arendt. At least I'm in most excellent company trying to reason through the psychology of propaganda and brainwashing. The question either phrase poses to us - especially for journalists - is why don't we give counter arguments more weight before imposing official narratives on trusting audiences? There are sound scientific reasons and research that provide answers. Unfortunately, they're not easy reading unless, like me, you're fascinated by such things. And that, in itself, is part of the issue. Research is not easy for most people, especially when findings counter what you already know - or think you know. Worse, in the back of our minds when confronted with challenging new information, we suspect that if we are convinced by it, the new information will become an onerous burden; we will be forced to admit we were fooled in the first place and now have to change our mind. Is that easy to do when we have already showered our beliefs on friends and family? Of course not. We will feel like a fool. Worse, we will be shamed and ostracized by those around us just as we shamed and ostracized others who doubted our beliefs. The thought of sounding like a Trump deplorable or a Freedom Trucker is just too much for most people. So they refuse to even consider contrary information and retreat into the safety of consensus reality espoused by the Brainwashed Brainwashers of corporate media. Imagine how much harder it is for so-called journalists who have made a career of avoiding the truth and whose paycheck depends on not questioning the positions of their employers or understanding the truth. At the bottom of this is another question: who is feeding the BBs and self-deceived deceivers with the false narratives in the first place? There must be a select few at the top of the food chain who are crafting the lies and expecting the BBs to sell them to audiences without questioning - no matter how ridiculous. The workings of our minds are so ephemeral and slippery it's hard to really know, even if we're talking about ourself. The one person we lie to more than any other is our self. Admitting We've Been Brainwashed Requires Effort, Courage and Humility I would love to say that I'm no longer brainwashed. But every time I do, my nose gets rubbed in my own hubris. I recently made an offhand comment about the failure of Soviet-style central planning but, fortunately, I was corrected by friends who shed a light on the issue where I never really looked before. Being brainwashed is forgiveable I suppose. After all, seventy plus years of Cold War propaganda has left me - and everyone I know - with a lot of unquestioned bad habits of thought. Most people can't see it. They refuse to even entertain the question and, in fact, they double down on denial of government/media brainwashing when challenged. It just sounds too crazy to them. They think it's impossible that all their friends, family and neighbors could be deluded. They can't imagine that their elected representatives or their trusted news sources could be similarly deluded. Or worse, be in on the brainwashing. Then they look at those promoting contrary narratives - the Trumpers or the Freedom Truckers or the Putin apologists - and that settles the issue for them. Only deplorables doubt official narratives. They know they're not brainwashed because their corporate news sources reassure them that they're not. It doesn't occur to them to wonder about how much influence governments have over the media - directly and indirectly. Maybe they don't know how much the media, especially newspapers in Canada, depend on govenment subsidies, not to mention access to critical information. The fact is everything is stacked against individuals questioning propaganda that is supported by overwhelming consensus. Attached to this post, are a couple of the most important documents released lately on this issue. They provide details and insight on revelations coming from Twitter executives about how the social media company was pressured by american government agents and politicians to help manufacture Russiagate in order to demonize both Donald Trump and Russia. If you don't know that the FBI investigation into Russian collusion with the Trump campaign cleared them both, it's because that news was largely hidden from you. These articles tell the story, if only you'll give them a chance. (And don't you dare dismiss me as a Trump supporter; I'm not.) But that's my point with this post; there is a lot of reading required - and reflection - that goes against what brainwashed people think they know. And it doesn't stop there; if officials and journalists will misrepresent one story, there are likely many more like them. The cognitive dissonance is personally formidable; it's so much easier to just accept what everyone else accepts as true. But the social dissonance is even worse. If you change your mind because you've learned something new, you will risk the same kind of shaming and alienation that you have heaped on the believers of 'fake news' yourself. It's hard to imagine the courage required on top of all the hard work. The final barrier to questioning your brainwashing is the embarrassment of admitting that you've been wrong for so long. Fortunately, you're in good company; almost everyone has been fooled including the brainwashed brainwashers who have invested their careers in sharing unquestioned delusions with their vast audiences. It will be even harder for them to find the humility to consider that the truth is more important than their personal esteem.
